The first movie I ever saw in the movie theater was Song of the South. It featured the song Zippity Do Da.
My mommy took me. I barely remember it that is how young I was. 5 years old or so. Still it was a delightful time.
I think I only remember her taking me to one other movie event. It was Little Orphan Annie and Star Trek the Wrath of Khan!
Oh my that was a day. We watched them back to back in the theater so for some reason mom let me eat double the junk food.
I got sick the next day. Was there a connection? We might never know.
A trip down memory lane is a wonderful ending for a month full of blogging.
A to Z wrapping up along with the Ultimate Blogging Challenge.
I want to thank all those who stopped by, wave to all the commenters who left a note and take a deep bow towards all my followers old and especially the newbies!!!
Lol! Now I'll have the song stuck in my head for days. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is the only reason I remember the whole thing. It was only in researching it for the post that I realized the movie was called something else. Spend some time on YouTube you will find a replacement catchy tune. hahahahaha
DeleteThat was such a cool movie. And you can't find it anywhere. I think it wasn't politically correct.
ReplyDeleteYes I heard it came under fire for it's racial over tones that some would take the wrong way. Oh well time goes by. There was what seemed to be a decent write up on Wiki that I linked to. YouTube always has clips of songs and movies we miss. Somewhere out there... our dreams and memories.
DeleteI recall seeing Song of the South when I was a kid in the 50s, but I don't remember much of anything about the movie. I've seen Annie many times--a wonderful film!

Tossing It Out
Hahhaha thank you. Ah yes the fun film memories of our youth. It is interesting to see sometimes which ones become well known classics and which just fade from view.
DeleteHappy post challenger blogging. I will get my wrap up written today and share my thoughts. It was fun.
